April is Poetry Month!
Poetry in the Park connects people to nature by engaging our senses with the environment around us.
Made possible through partnerships with these local library systems.

Join us for Guided Walks in April!
Poetry signs will be posted in April throughout
Adriana Hess Wetland Park for self-guided walks.
In partnership with the Pierce County Library System, we'll be hosting three poetry nature walks at Adriana Hess Wetland Park. We'll also have an ongoing display of poetry signs with new poems being added throughout the month! Attendees are encouraged but not required to bring a nature related poem of their own to share.
Saturday, April 5th, 10:30-11:30 AM
Join Tahoma Bird Alliance board member and education committee member Marsha Williams to kickoff Poetry in the Park in celebration of National Poetry Month! Lemonade and cookies will be served. This will be a fun and casual event to enjoy poetry, treats, and a walk in the park--bring the whole family!
Thursday, April 17th, 2-3PM
Join PCLS Librarian Maureen Ricks-Wildish for a guided poetry walk. This is a family friendly event, and attendees of all ages are encouraged but not required to bring a nature related poem of their own to share. Poetry signs will be changed throughout the month, so each walk will feature a unique selection of poems.
