Tahoma Bird Alliance's Annual Birdathon is back, and we are aflutter with excitement!
Birdathon has been helping Tahoma Bird Alliance support our education and conservation programming since the 70s! As our largest fundraiser of the year, we count on funds from Birdathon to help us support programs such as 10k Trees, Birdability, advocacy, stewardship, education and our growing commitment to help save birds in Pierce County.
Birdathon is Old School Crowdfunding!
The concept is simple, like a walkathon, you collect pledges (or flat donations) from friends, family, colleagues, etc. for finding and counting bird species.
How It Works:
-
Teams will go out birding, carefully counting the different species they see.
-
Supporters pledge a dollar amount for each species the group spots, OR they can donate a set amount.
EXAMPLE: A supporter pledges $5 per species. The Team that they support spots
30 different bird species on their bird walk. The Supporter will then donate $150 to TBA.
Ways To Participate:
Create a Team - Be a solo crusader or gather a crew & set a fundraising goal!
Setup Personal Fundraising Page - Register your team here, you will receive a link to personalize your fundraising page!
Gather Supporters - Invite the people you know to support you in raising money for Pierce County Birds
Watch Birds - Go birding in your backyard, neighborhood, park, join a guided walk, or make your own plan
Count Bird Species - Set a time frame (1hr +), a species goal (no goal is too small!) & count the Birds!
Win Prizes* - for different categories like: Most Species, Most Supporters, Largest Supporter, First-timer of the Year
*Full Prize Sheet will be available by 6/10/25. TBA Staff, including Art Wang, are excluded from winning any Birdathon prizes*
